5...4...3...

sorry, i have been a little off my game. volleyball playoffs were this weekend, we needed to beat a team that beat us twice this season to go to state. a match is 3 out of five and we lost by two points in the 5th game. i defiantly felt like i let my team down, it was hard having the energy necessary with everything else going on in my life.

i love coaching, they are an amazing group of girls. here are some highlights from the season:

- winning the ASDB tournament
- when a ref. asked shannon is she touched the ball and she said, "yes", awarding the other team with a point
- the way the seniors played on senior night
- beating greenfields (one of our rivals) the last game of the regular season
- finishing with a 20-5-1 record

despite the finish, it was truly a great season

-back to politics-

why would colin powell endorse barak obama?

Cause he's black. I'm sorry, but it's unfortunately true.

Why can Rush Limbaugh say the only reason Powell endorsed Obama was because he was black, but Limbaugh won't say the only reason he endorsed McCain was because he was white? Does Limbaugh think only white people are superior because they can think about things complexly but black people can only think about one thing? Limbaugh's statement is clearly racist.

This country needs to come together. We can certainly disagree with each other respectfully. But people like Limbaugh are not helping the country. They are harming it. McCain's concession speech was a model of how we should be talking to each other--with respect, with hope, yet with differences. We don't need more hate.

I don't think it was because he is black. I think it was because he was pretty sure he was going to win. If he would have endorsed the candidate who was not going to win, he may have been written out of political life for the next four years.

Does that sound cynical? I know, I am, but I still think it is true. Politics is an odd and ugly animal.

i dont think political gain was the reason. powell could have stayed on as secretary of state for another four years, but chose not to.

how many life long republicans do you know that have endorced a democrat for president? or democrats endorcing republicans for that matter.

maybe im not a cynic, but ill take him at his word. check him out on meet the press.
