beniah was sitting on christe's lap at the dinner table, he sneezed so hard that he jerked forward and slammed his head against the table...hilarious.
ps - he didn't cry, my boy feels no pain, or he was distracted by dad laughing at his son's misfortunes.

mlk weekend
mlk weekend has turned into a getaway weekend for us. last year we went down to my dad's in sierra vista and just relaxed..watched both seasons of rome (hbo series), did some wine tasting in elgin, and toured tombstone. it was a great weekend except that during the wine tasting i almost passed out from the smell of this red wine...later i realized i was pregnant and from then on i couldn't even smell red wine! this year we escaped to sedona.
dave has a core group of friends from college and they've gotton together in the past for weekend trips, but this time it was a trip for all families-and it was great. unfortunately, we were only able to stay a day and a half, but the trip up to sedona was worth it. while i understand that the boys like to "get away" and be boys every once in a while, i was excited that they put together a family trip! (wifes are fun too, right?)

new heights
beniah has a couple new favorite games.. one being us throwing stuffed animals at him.. he let out a huge laugh and we caught it on video.
we've also introduced him to solid foods. dave was not excited about avocado..his rational? that can only come out of the other end in a bad, bad way. ;)

christmas in chicago
a long overdue post..

we spent beniah's first christmas in snowy chicago. nothing feels more like christmas than 0 degree weather and snow! we had a great time relaxing with family and seeing old friends. some highlights..

bishop n.t. wright
a couple days after getting into chicago my father said he had to go to the airport to pick up tom wright for a conference they were attending.
now if you don't know anything about tom (n.t.) wright, the guy is a new testament scholar who has written some 20-30 books and it wouldn't be uncommon to hear him mentioned in conversations that include people like j.i. packer or c.s. lewis. something with these british guys and their initials.
so naturally our conversations led to the greatest of all his works, enjoy...
